AnySignal and Reflect Orbital Partner to Deliver End-to-End Space-to-Earth Communications for Upcoming Satellite Missions

LOS ANGELES — In a major development for both commercial space-based networking and orbital infrastructure, AnySignal announced an agreement on October 20, 2026, to provide comprehensive space-to-earth communications for Reflect Orbital. Under the new partnership, AnySignal will supply its advanced technology for Reflect Orbital’s inaugural satellite mission as well as two subsequent flights, solidifying its role as the primary communications partner for the pioneering space startup.

The agreement encompasses the deployment of AnySignal’s USX space transceivers to manage critical flight operations, alongside the integration of the AnyLink software platform to streamline ground station connectivity. By tying spacecraft radio hardware directly to a unified ground network infrastructure, the collaboration aims to simplify complex radio frequency operations and reduce engineering overhead for Reflect Orbital as it prepares to launch its innovative spacecraft.

Streamlining Spacecraft Hardware and Ground Operations

For the upcoming missions, Reflect Orbital’s satellites will rely on the AnySignal USX transceiver, a multi-band software-defined radio designed to handle demanding orbital workloads. Traditionally, spacecraft architecture requires separate hardware modules to manage different frequency bands, which can increase the overall mass, power consumption, and internal cabling complexity of a satellite bus.

The USX unit overcomes these traditional engineering hurdles by consolidating high-rate payload downlinks and Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) functions into a single, highly integrated hardware module. This consolidation significantly reduces the physical footprint of the communication system on the spacecraft bus, freeing up valuable payload mass and volume for other mission-critical equipment.

In tandem with the flight hardware, the agreement introduces AnySignal’s AnyLink software to govern ground operations. AnyLink acts as a sophisticated interface layer that aggregates access to multiple ground-station-as-a-service (GSaaS) providers. Through this single, unified architecture, operators at Reflect Orbital can seamlessly access and coordinate with different third-party ground networks without needing to build or manage bespoke software integrations for each individual provider.

Leadership Perspectives on the Partnership

Industry executives from both companies highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement, emphasizing how integrated end-to-end communication systems can accelerate mission timelines and reduce operational risks for commercial space ventures.

"AnySignal is excited to provide Reflect with full-stack communications for their upcoming missions," said John Malsbury, CEO and co-founder of AnySignal. "This agreement reflects the power of AnySignal’s operating system for the electromagnetic system. The AnySignal operating system, including radio hardware and ground networking, solves technical RF problems so that innovative customers like Reflect Orbital can focus on their groundbreaking missions."

Ben Nowack, co-founder and CEO of Reflect Orbital, echoed these sentiments, pointing to the practical advantages of sourcing both flight radios and ground software from a single provider.

"We selected AnySignal for both our flight radio and ground connectivity software because it delivers a true end-to-end comms solution," Nowack said. "AnySignal has helped us de-risk early operations and let us focus on engineering the novel parts of our spacecraft."

About the Companies

AnySignal is a U.S.-based aerospace and defense technology company specializing in the development of the operating system for the electromagnetic spectrum. The company designs, builds, integrates, and operates comprehensive radio-frequency systems for a broad range of civil, commercial, and national security customers. Its technologies enable organizations to sense, connect, and defend assets across land, air, sea, and space, delivering the adaptable spectrum capabilities required by modern missions.

Reflect Orbital is developing novel space-enabled infrastructure designed to deliver sunlight to precise locations on the surface of the Earth. By strategically redirecting sunlight from orbit, the company aims to extend electricity generation hours at solar farms, provide vital illumination to assist search-and-rescue teams during nighttime operations, and enhance safety for construction crews working after dark. Operating on the core belief that reliable access to affordable energy serves as the foundation for human progress, economic growth, and a healthier planet, Reflect Orbital’s mission is to unlock a greater share of the sun’s potential and bring energy abundance to a world facing growing power demands.
