Australian Earth observation satellite company LatConnect 60 (LC60) has significantly bolstered its strategic footprint in India by announcing two major agreements at the Bengaluru Space Expo 2026. Unveiled on September 7th, the landmark deals span critical satellite mission infrastructure and direct access to India’s lucrative defence and geospatial intelligence markets, marking a major milestone for the Perth-headquartered enterprise as it prepares for its upcoming orbital deployments.
The dual agreements, forged with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and GeoSyze EO Solutions LLP, establish complementary and robust pathways for LC60’s operations. Specifically, the partnerships secure operational support for the company’s ambitious SWIRSAT constellation through established Indian government-linked ground infrastructure, while simultaneously creating a localized channel for delivering high-resolution Earth observation data, advanced analytics, and future short-wave infrared (SWIR) intelligence products to key Indian defense, security, and intelligence customers.
The first of these foundational agreements was signed with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of India’s national space program. Under the terms of the accord finalized at the Expo, NSIL will provide vital telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) services for LC60’s upcoming SWIRSAT-1 and SWIRSAT-2 spacecraft. According to NSIL officials, the satellites are currently slated for launch in the first and second quarters of 2027, respectively.
This critical agreement ensures that LC60 gains seamless access to NSIL’s robust ground-station infrastructure across India. This capability is essential for supporting day-to-day mission operations, routine satellite health monitoring, and high-volume data downlink requirements, effectively adding an indispensable Indian node to the global ground architecture supporting the SWIRSAT constellation.
The high-profile signing ceremony underscored the diplomatic and commercial importance of the collaboration. It took place in the presence of the Australian High Commissioner to India, Philip Green OAM, alongside representatives from the Australian High Commission, Austrade India, the Australian Space Agency, and the Western Australian Government’s Invest and Trade office in India, highlighting the strong bilateral backing for commercial space cooperation between the two nations.
In a second strategic announcement on the same day, LC60 entered into a formal collaboration with GeoSyze EO Solutions LLP, a prominent Indian geospatial technology firm. GeoSyze brings extensive domain expertise spanning satellite data processing, geospatial intelligence, advanced analytics, and tailored technical solutions designed specifically for defense, security, and intelligence applications.

Under this second agreement, GeoSyze will act as a strategic consultant and premier channel partner for LC60. The Indian firm will work hand-in-hand with LC60 to explore, facilitate, and accelerate the delivery of the Australian company’s Earth observation datasets, forthcoming SWIR products, and sophisticated analytics directly into the hands of the Indian defense market and allied security sectors.
These dual agreements come as LC60 aggressively accelerates the development and deployment schedule of its flagship SWIRSAT short-wave infrared Earth observation constellation. The company’s comprehensive long-term roadmap calls for the establishment of a robust 18-satellite constellation by the year 2029, with an even more expansive horizon pointing toward a mega-constellation of more than 100 satellites by 2035.
LatConnect 60 is designing and building SWIRSAT as a core component of a vertically integrated Earth-intelligence architecture. This sophisticated system uniquely combines high-performance space-based satellite collection, resilient ground infrastructure, advanced onboard and ground data processing, and artificial intelligence-enabled analytics tailored for a wide array of vertical sectors, including national defense, precision agriculture, natural resource management, maritime domain awareness, and environmental monitoring.
Consequently, the South Asian nation represents far more than a lucrative potential customer market for the Australian enterprise. The NSIL agreement directly connects LC60’s constellation to one of the most reliable and established space infrastructures in the world, while the partnership with GeoSyze furnishes a dependable, trusted pathway into one of the largest and most dynamic defense and geospatial intelligence markets in the entire Indo-Pacific region.
Announced on the opening day of the Bengaluru Space Expo—which ran from September 7th to September 9th and was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in active partnership with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), and NSIL—these agreements solidify India’s status as an increasingly vital operational and commercial node in LC60’s broader global SWIRSAT strategy.
Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, LatConnect 60 continues to position itself as a forward-thinking AI and Earth observation leader, delivering critical satellite-derived intelligence across a diverse portfolio of industries ranging from defense and carbon tracking to resources and agriculture. By owning its proprietary artificial intelligence models and advanced satellite manufacturing technologies, LC60 remains on track for the commercial validation of its vision when the proprietary SWIRSAT constellation initiates its launch sequence in the first quarter of 2027.
